….I had a very unpleasant adjustment at the chiropractor yesterday. Stress associated muscle clenching has jammed up my neck and my collarbone and that’s caused my shoulders (right in particular) to pull it at least partially out of doing. My chiropractor and I have had an on and off relationship since about 1987 but I’ve been trying to be more consistent the past few years. A “tune-up” every 4-6 weeks keeps me from ending up crippled with my shoulders out of sorts and unable to move for a week or two.
Until it all went sideways…while he was on vacation.
So, as I said, a most unpleasant adjustment yesterday to try to start to put things back in place…and no four weeks until the next one….a week at a time for a bit until things are better.
So what do I do the day after said unpleasant adjustment?
Go for a morning run, and then use a hand saw to take down three 18-20 foot Photonia ‘trees’ that divide our yard from our neighbours and which have become messy and problematic. They had become too big and they need to come out so that we can continue with our external renovation. I also took out an eight foot Magnolia stellata that I just didn’t really like, dig out a Yucca, rescue a few little Hepatica plants that would end up as casualties when the excavator comes to tear out our driveway soon….and a bunch of other things to hack away at in the yard.
And then we had to cut all of the Photinia into smaller ‘bite-sized’ bits and drag it all into he back of the truck….and I climbed in and stomped it all down to help make it one load…and of course I was wearing capris…so of course my calves and shins are all scratched and cut.
Tomorrow we have to dig out an eight foot Korean lilac tree and do ‘something’ with that.
But tonight?
Tonight is a few drinks and some pain pills.
Before we attack things again.
Good thing I have another chiropractor’s appointment next Friday morning….
