Shipyards

by The Philosophical Fish

I love that they left some of the heavy machinery on site when they turned the old shipyards into a vibrant public space along the waterfront and built a hotel, condominiums, a skating rink, restaurants, shops, and a performers stage and opened it up to farmer’s markets, food truck evenings, craft fairs, and any number of other public events. So much waterfront in the greater Vancouver area is accessible to the public that I am often caught off guard when I visit other places in the world that limit access.
