The Other Side

by The Philosophical Fish

Day four of my three week vacation saw me at the office downtown. Don’t get that wrong, it’s not a bad or unplanned thing. I’d set up a full-day team-building/training session and the only time I could catch everyone at a moment when they weren’t travelling for field work or on leave was when I was on leave. If you want something to happen, sometimes you make a personal compromise, and this one was worth it.

Sitting on the sea-bus on the way across Burrard Inlet from downtown Vancouver back to North Vancouver I discovered that my credit card had been skimmed at one of the two restaurants I visited with the team today. I apparently tried to make a payment on US-Bangla Airlines, as well as buy lunch at Bad Boyz Bistro in Pennsylvania…at the same time..minutes after actually paying my bill at a pub in downtown Vancouver.

Fascinating!

Also, impossible.

Neither attempted purchase went through and my card declined them both based on my security settings, and as soon as I saw the text messages declining the transactions I went in and froze my card.

Guess I need a new card.

And, of course, my card is the one that most recurring bill payments goes to.
