Another saying, which holds the same meaning, is that “Old keys don’t open new doors”.
You can’t continue to do what you’ve been doing and expect to get different results. People say this is the definition of insanity… continue doing the same things over and over again and expecting different results.
How often do we want things to change, but we don’t actually want to make a change. Something isn’t working, but it’s work to make the change, and change is difficult, or we don’t know how to change, so we continue on the same path. And then we get frustrated because things haven’t changed. It’s a bit of a vicious cycle.
