We are moving towards a fairly significant bit of work on our home and that necessitated the movement of some relatively well established plants, a couple of relatively large bushes, and an eight foot maple tree today. Tomorrow I have another eight foot maple tree to move, a six foot one, and two four foot trees, along with about ten very well established azalea bushes. The 12-foot palm that I grew from a 5 inch plant will have to be wrapped in burlap to protect it…because that simply cannot be moved.
And then I have to find places around the yard to put those and berm them in so they hopefully survive the insult to be replanted in a month or two.
While I was at that, Kirk was moving the furniture and one extremely heavy BBQ out of our courtyard and pulling up some plastic decking, then starting to chip off the terracotta tiles that overlay a concrete slab.
And now my back hurts….
