The question on the card….
“What would your 19-year-old self have been amazed to hear your current self feels is ‘essential’?”
I suppose that question would have a different answer depending on what room I am standing in and what time of day it currently is. At the moment, it’s dinner time and I am in the kitchen….and I have a favourite spatula (two actually….oh yes, adulthood is filled with critically important items!) and a critically essential lemon squeezer.
It’s a pretty fancy lemon squeezer….but I broke the metal one. When I told the woman at Gourmet Warehouse her eyes bugged out and she asked how strong I was…because…well…I broke the handle on a metal one just like this..
Sure, I have one of the little wooden ones and it gets used sometimes. And I have Mom’s (her Mom’s actually…so my Grandma’s) glass press down lemon juicer….but when you use a lot of lemons…this fancy one below just works so incredibly well!
(Full disclosure…I also have a lime version and an orange version because it works so well…and the orange version is big enough to be able to do a medium sized grapefruit in one good squeeze! Who thought adulthood would be such a wild and crazy experience?)
