Made it to the finish line for the work year. I won’t say it was the most productive day in the world in my quiet and isolated little bubble upstairs at the hatchery. But the fact that the afternoon was quiet also signalled that the excavator had been loaded and removed from the site, so the building shaking is over, at least for now, until the next step of the rebuild gets underway and they start gutting the building. At the point I will vacate my little office upstairs and move into a trailer outside, but that’s still a few months off.
In the meantime, we are happy to just “be” tonight. Time to take a breather from a hectic and stressful number of weeks.
Nothing fancy tonight to celebrate shutting off the computer until next year, just some simple tacos and a bottle of red wine to wash it down with.
