Tiny Seasonal Treasures – Day 349

by The Philosophical Fish

Of all the things that get pulled out of the boxes at Christmas, this is one of my favourites…..a tiny little reindeer about four inches tall. I just always appreciate its stylized simplicity.

On a blustery day we just felt like settling in with a cup of tea and a book/camera/puzzle….well…at least until I have to drag myself out to a social event later this afternoon. I always think committing to parties seems like a great idea, until they actually arrive, and then I just want to stay curled up near the fire and be asocial. I mean, I was already social last night. Two days in one week seems a bit much.

I purchased a new Lensbaby Velvet 56 lens the other week and have only just started to play with it. I already have the 28 and the 85mm versions and, with a pretty good Black Friday discount, I decided to complete the set and get the middle lens as well. As always, excellent construction and fun to use. Such a different type of lens to shoot with….soft, ephemeral feeling images with a different sort of mood that comes out of them.
