I heard through the grapevine that someone is whining about another person getting something they would like to have but their manager clearly articulated that they couldn’t have. However, now their manager is whining that said whiner should have the very thing that they themself said wasn’t on the table….because someone in another group may be granted the thing they said their person couldn’t have.
Seriously?
Meanwhile, the one being whined about is providing something of value in the circumstances, while the whiner is merely looking for personal gain.
And I’m supposed to care.
I don’t.
Or rather, I am not sympathetic.
I’d really be so much happier if people worried more about their work than they did about what they think they are winning or losing. It’s not a game, but that seems to be how some treat it.
I am so frustrated by the people at levels who should be concerned about the program and how it’s functioning and less about their status in things.
There is one who wants to give everyone a proverbial group hug.
Then there is one who just wants everyone to make them feel comfortable.
One wants world domination.
And one wants everyone to calm the fuck down and work together.
On one hand I’m glad to work with the last one because this one is willing to say the hard things and stand up for what’s right instead of always wanting everyone to acknowledge that they are right…even when they are not right.
And I’m sure that none of that made any sense…but perhaps I’ll drink the wine tomorrow with a friend and we will commiserate over the fucked up state of affairs and how egos seem to be more important than the actual work that needs to be carried out.
