Sunday….a relatively unproductive Sunday at that. We washed the motorcycles, puttered a bit, put a few things at the curb and watched them disappear (Magic curb is what my best friend calls it…we tend to call it Curbside Shopping …don’t care….it didn’t go to landfill and someone one those with new-to-them-treasures).
While we were puttering and waxing motorcycles I made a couple of Moscow Mules to quench our thirst and plunked the Lensbaby Burnside 35mm lens on the D810.
I bought the lens some time ago and never really appreciated it, probably because it wasn’t really designed for a 4:3 camera bit rather a full frame one. I pretty much picked up the D810 to use with the Lensbabies and the combination is just not disappointing me.
The one amusing thing was when our neighbour came by to sign a cheque so the building could pay the water bill. We love her so much…and she is kind of like “Mom” to the four units. We visited, chatted for a while…and after she left Kirk said something along the lines of “When she was here I sort of felt like I shouldn’t drink my drink.”
When I told him that when I’d come down to chat I’d turned back to grab my drink and then stopped and thought “Nope, I can’t drink in front of Carolynn” we both just laughed. We are not children….farfarfarfar from it…but we feel like kids when she visits.
Besides that amusing moment…I do love the Burnside lens on this body, It gives such a cool spiral blur to the background. I am rediscovering the fun of some of these interesting lenses.
