It’s true.
And I’m sure every generation has always felt that it’s worse than it was before.
In prehistoric times I’m sure that a series of hurricanes would have seemed like the end of the world.
The first time a plague passed through a society it also probably seemed like the end of times.
The invention of the atomic bomb.
And so on….
But I’d argue that we have definitely improved our methods of potentially ending civilization to be more effective than we ever have in the past.
And we’ve put lunatics in charge of the dangerous toys.
And even when we get the lunatics away from the dangerous toys….we apparently think that perhaps their time in the corner has been sufficient and so we start talking about reinstating their privileges and giving them access to their toys again.
I don’t know what to think of the world this past decade.
That makes me sound old, doesn’t it.
