Dinosaur’us (Day 185)

by The Philosophical Fish

Do you feel like a dinosaur some days?

I do.

But that’s another complaint for another day.

So this is from Friday, but I did promise to be kind to myself and that this half-a-365 would be as much about just doing ‘something’ creative everyday, and that involves a photo and some words, to get find my way back to a happier place that isn’t defined by back-to-back-to-back meetings and reminds me that there are amazingly cool things around us every day, if we can only just look away from a digital device.

And I am aware of the irony here in that I am complaining about not looking up from digital devices while I am using a digital device to share something cool that you will look at on a digital device, of some sort.

So, Friday morning, while still in Ann Arbor, Michigan, hours before I thought I was to be stranded in Calgary due to an airline strike, I was enjoying a few hours before leaving the east side of the continental USA by contemplating the passage of time and the evolution of species in the Michigan State University’s Museum of Natural History. A museum that resides within the Biological Science building on campus.

Pretty freaking cool to do your biology degree in a building that contains this sort of evolutionary history!

And then, when you are almost all out of “OMG How Cool”…you turn a corner and discover a Trash Panda, with a jar of peanut butter, sitting on a garbage can lid, in a display cabinet.

And what do you say about that……other than I love that it has a jar of “Natural” peanut butter in the Museum of “Natural” History.

Happy Wednesday!
