Have you ever had one of those amazing moments that just makes you so damned happy, but it’s difficult to explain it to other people because it seems a bit ridiculous?
Receiving a package today at the hatchery, handed to you by a coworker, and you look at it quizzically like “I don’t have anything left that I’ve ordered that hasn’t arrived that was being sent to this address instead of home so that the other half didn’t see it” and a moment later you are laughing out loud and the person who delivered said package to you is like “What is so funny!?”
Inside….20 rolls of Butter Rum Lifesavers.
I handed him a roll and he asked “Are they like Werthers?“
I said “Well, kinda“.
A minute later, down the hall I hear “THEY TASTE LIKE RUM!!!” 🤣
Well…YEAH! It’s kinda in the name!
Last year about this time I was down in Portland with a colleague. On the way to and from we had made a few stops and I’d stumbled onto two rolls of Butter Rum Lifesavers at a store and purchased them with such glee! Every store for the rest of that trip and I’d searched for more because I’d not seen them since I was a kid. I remember them in the Christmas Lifesaver Storybook…one of my all time favourite flavours. Not seen in 30+ years.
Until that trip to Portland last year.
Today, a year later….in my hands….20 rolls of the things and a text message in a followup conversation, telling me that I didn’t have to ration them now 🤣
