I went out for something vaguely resembling a run after work. The forecast showed a the rain slowing or stopping for a bit, but I got wet anyway, the forecast is too wide to fully account for living against the mountains. The weather really feels like someone flipped the fall switch instead of using a dimmer.

While I was cooling down and walking the run off I passed a few rosebushes still very much in bloom. This one was particularly spectacular. I didn’t punch up the saturation, that really is the colour of it….

And when I was looking down through the phone I realized that the petals were almost exactly the same colour as my running shoes 🙃
I have to find these random observations to distract myself from the fact act that I am outside in wet and sweaty clothes after a run I didn’t feel like doing. The pops of colour remaining as we transition into a colder, darker, wetter season, are welcome.
