Some days I take a photo that has some meaning, is metaphorical, jogs some memory, or evokes some feeling.
Other days I pile something on the kitchen counter and try to make a random object look interesting.
Guess which one today is.
I rode about three hours, out to a hatchery and back, to spend about an hour-and-a-half at the site, because I’d heard that they were going to do something to some fish and I wasn’t sure I was happy with what I thought it might end up looking like.
In the end I decided I have a bad memory about what a 2 gram fish looks like, bigger than I always think, and I had an opportunity to make some suggestions on the procedure, and it went well enough that I was less concerned. Enough so that I felt comfortable leaving and booking it back home at high speed to make a 2pm Teams meeting that I didn’t want to miss given that I’d gone through some effort to set up the meeting series and this would be the first scheduled one. Not the one I want to miss or reschedule.
I also knew I wouldn’t have time to sit down at the hatchery for lunch, so no point packing a lunch. Snarfed down an apple while there, and then back on the bike for the rip home, before getting home four minutes before said meeting with someone who is challenging at the best of times to keep on track, let alone follow….
And so, after all that…tired me, peckish me, piled up some crackers and played with the camera.
Here is the result.
I am not displeased with the end product…..and I like a photo prop that I can eat afterwards.
