A new art installation outside of the Bentall Centre on Burrard street is a pair of giant ants built out of scrap car parts.
The metaphor of ants in the most densely packed area of Vancouver, and the financial distric, is not lost on me.
Worker ants…..at the end of the day the office towers empty their daytime residents onto the sidewalks as they stream to the parkades, the buses, and the trains. Lines of humans that probably look like trails of ants if viewed from high above.
To the actual ants below…we must look like giant monsters….
