One of two little elephant figurines that used to grace one of Mom’s shelves. I’m not sure why I had a fascination with them when I was a kid, but I did.
When we boxed up Mom’s house I took them, but later sent one to my briother, so we each have an elephant in the room 🙂
They do have an interesting history; they were keepsakes produced by the Elephant Fertilizer Company back in the 1950’s/1960’s. The company was once a subsidiary of Cominco, a mining and smelting company in British Columbia that is called Teck Resources today.
Just another little thing in a strange location in my house and which makes me think of family when I see it.
