I put art in strange places.
This little fellow sits on the edge of the bathroom sink.
It’s a legacy from my Mom I guess; she gave me odd things over the years and, like her, I ended up putting odd things in odd places.
She had a strange appreciation for the massive coastal slugs, so when I saw this handcast slug at Circle Craft’s art co-operative on Granville Island a few years ago, I thought of her, and thus it came home with me.
The bathroom sink?
I have no idea why.
But it does make me smile most mornings.
My brain is fried, and feels sluggish, after a day spent trying to make sense of a study, and the associated data, that I helped with more than five years ago, and which I keep trying to write up and get off my very short list of things that just never got done. Going back to something that you more or less abandoned is difficult.
So when I couldn’t think of anything to photograph, and went looking for some random object around the house, the slug won out; it also seemed somehow appropriate.

[https://www.flickr.com/photos/finlap] Thank you Karen…but it’s not actually (technically) a black and white image 🙂
