Past the school, a trail leads into the forest and along paths littered with fallen leaves. Eventually, after a couple of lefts and rights, one reaches the upper Mosquito Creek Trail.
Mosquito Creek runs from the North Shore Mountains to empty into the ocean at Burrard Inlet below. The paths along the creek are popular for locals to go walking, and the trails are always teeming with dogs since the park is canine friendly.
On a sunny and warm (when in the sun) day, it was a perfect place to go and get a bit of fresh air, and remind ourselves how out of shape we are. And we have to take them while we can since we live in the rain belt.
On days like today everyone you meet shares a smile and a happy hello, if not because of the weather, then spirits were buoyed by monumental events to the south of us.
