The wildfires both to the south and to the north have brought a blanket of smoke over much of the province. While we don’t have the apocalyptic orange skies that I’ve seen others post images of down south, the air here is still filled with ick.
We went down to the beach to see if we could find an interesting colour for a sunset through the smoke….instead it was just….yellow’ish fog. But it still made for some interesting images.
Although West Vancouver was visible from Ambleside (not really surprising), downtown was largely invisible from anywhere.
The world stinks of fire right now…and the face mask is now doing double duty. Those who deny that the climate is changing must have very short memories. I’ve lived in Vancouver for 33 years now, and never, until about five or six years ago, did the world here look like this in the summer. The first time it happened was so strange, and now, sadly, it’s almost becoming expected at some point.

I share your sadness. It’s so dreary here in northern Washington as well. Praying for our fire fighter and the return of clean air.

It looks, and is, awful. I feel for the people living with the fear of fires destroying their homes, businesses etc, the firefighters and also those like you, having their atmosphere polluted. Those denying climate change are very foolish!
