Now I have definitive proof that it’s been a cold summer.
My toad lilies are starting to bloom, and that doesn’t usually happen until early fall. Typically, when everything else is starting to pack it in for the winter, the toad lilies are happily putting out their interesting little flowers atop their four foot stalks.
But not this year.
This year has been cold and wet, and the summer weather seems to have lasted only a week before starting to already feel like fall.
Toad Lily – such an unflattering name for such a pretty little flower.
