I did not intend to take yet another flower photo today. We bought tickets for the PNE Car-B-Q this evening and when we went to pick up our ribs an added treat was a drive into the coliseum for a drive through car show. I took a few photos as we passed some spectacular cars, including a De Lorean complete with a Flux Capacitor.
I also took a few photos of the BBQ trailers and the people serving.
But when I put the camera card into my card reader…it ate the photos and somehow corrupted everything 🙁
So…here are some more flowers.

I have two kinds of “Rhodos” growing in my garden.
The big, “in your face”, one is a Rhododendron that clocks in at around 20 feet tall, and about the same width.
And then there is this tiny little treasure, the Rhodohypoxis, coming in “marginally” smaller at only about three inches tall.
I have had one of these pretty little things in my last two gardens, and I’ve been hard on them. I always forget about them after they disappear underground for the winter and then, come spring when I start rooting around in the soil and planting this or moving that, I come across “something” in the soil and wonder what it is before the memory clicks and I realize I’ve just beaten it up…again.
So this time, I planted this one right up against a rock in a hard to work spot in the hopes that I wouldn’t disturb it. The rock and the location also provide it with the heat that I know it loves, being of South African origin.
And it worked. It materialized and burst into flower this week, and it’s bigger and better than it was last year for not having been mutilated before emerging.
