There is so much beauty to appreciate in the world, if we could just find a way to filter out the distractions and stop being so self-centred about our personal place in it.
It’s a grey and rainy day. It’s dreary and dismal. It’s cold. I could whine about Junuary and miserable weather and such.
Or I can go outside and crouch down in front of a simple bent Crocosmia leaf and be fascinated by the way it holds tiny drops of moisture that have landed, some coalescing into larger drops, before the weight causes it to droop and empty itself to the ground below.
Sometimes you need to focus on something small to distract you from all the big stuff swirling around.
