After the work hours were done for the day we went for a walk around the ‘hood. There were a number of things that made us smile, and we need reasons to smile. So here are five things on our walk that brought a smile.
1. People playing pickle ball. It was nice to see people behaving normally, having a friendly game of pickle ball in one of the courts at Murdo Frazer Park.

2. The Murdo Frazer caretaker’s cabin on its little pond is also formerly a common scene in the television show Stargate. The cabin was used in the series as the home of Lieutenant General Jack O’Neill. I first stumbled on it about 20 years ago. I’m glad to see that it is still there, and still looking cute on its little shore.

3. A message in the forest. At the base of a tree, a little painted rock telling passersby to Stay Safe.

4. A bicycle ramp. I’ve never seen one of these before, and it took me a moment to understand what I was looking at. Interestingly, the existing base that it is secured to was a concrete edge that served the same purpose, but I suppose the rail makes it easer to maintain control of a bike by keeping the wheels better contained as the rider walks up the steep stairway.

5. Flash ran so fast he lost his cape! What else do I need to say about this one?
