The advice this summer is to stick close to home and be a (respectful) tourist in our own provinces.

I’d love to explore more of my home province, but I’ll stick to near Vancouver to keep the pressure off the small communities where I’d normally like to roam.
There are a lot of high anxieties right now and it’s pretty insensitive to ignore that fact in the name of “I want”.
I’m not that selfish and I spend enough time in small communities for work to know that they don’t have the resources if things go sideways, so I will respect that fact and be satisfied with what is within a few kilometres of my front door.
