I tend to garden for shapes, textures, and shades of green. I’m not really a flower gardener, although you might not believe that given how many flower photos I’ve taken in recent weeks.
I particularly dislike the flowers that this hardy geranium (cranesbill) puts out. I keep the plant in the garden because it stays green all winter, and I like the leaves, but I find the flower spikes messy and annoying.
However, the bees love it so I let it flower every year and, once the blooms are gone, it gets a severe haircut and goes back to being a well behaved resident of the garden for the rest of the year.
