’tis the Season :)

Today was sunny and warm, and a perfect day for some hard work in the garden. We pulled apart the raised bed and spread some of the soil elsewhere. Then we (he) dug out the centre and laid some pavers to split the space in half. We still need to pick up some concrete blocks to support the back and keep the soil off the fence, and some small garden blocks to continue the work we started last year and edge the front of the new raised bed differently.

There were lots of people out walking, and a fair share called out to us to say hello and make funny remarks about taking breaks, keep up the good work, get busy, and so on. A sunny day makes everyone happy to be out and about, particularly these days when we are all isolating from anyone other than those we live with.

And at the point where we both decided that we were spent and, as far as I am concerned, summer has arrived and it is time to break out the flip flops.

But not at a beach, nor a public park, or anywhere else where people are in close proximity. We are, after all, in a world pandemic situation, so flip flop wearing in summer-like weather is hereby restricted to the backyard….

…until about 3:30 in the afternoon, when it became chilly in the shade…than it was blankie time.
