Just a silly little piece of art that Mom gave me decades ago. It hangs in our kitchen and makes us smile.
George is a mosquito, named for the town his maker (and I) lived – Prince George.
It’s always been a joke that we grow mosquitos big in the north….that we are known for the bloodsucking things… I guess that’s what George was made to represent.
Bruce Baycroft lived in Prince George for decades and crafted these fun little things for almost as long. I have a salt & pepper set of funny little people, and another odd creature that we know only as Oscar, who has graced our kitchen for over 30 years, both (I think) also crafted by him about 35-40 years ago.
I’m really struggling wth the camera this week…..
