Well, still stuck at home because of Kirk’s travels, and my grocery order yesterday was delivered with less than half the items I’d ordered because everyone in Vancouver who doesn’t “need” their groceries delivered is ordering their groceries for delivery anyway.
Yesterday we didn’t get bread, didn’t get whole wheat flour, and I don’t have any bread flour int he house because I haven’t been baking bread for a few years, so the best I could do was bake a little loaf with regular unbleached flour, which is always shy on gluten to give it a better rise.
So, although it didn’t grow the way it usually does, it still looked pretty, smelled wonderful, and tastes delicious.
I’m hoping that my next attempt at trying to have groceries delivered at the end of the week will include the whole wheat flour that will help bake a better loaf but, if not, I have other tricks up my sleeves.
Regardless, this will disappear quickly and largely with dinner tonight 🙂
OK…tomorrow I have to take a photo of something other than food….
