I’d say I hated asparagus as a child. but I probably never even tried it. It is green, looks like something I knew I probably hated.
Green beans and Brussels sprouts were also green and I did know that I hated those, that was rationale enough for me back then
I was one of “those” kids to try to feed.
I ate potatoes, mashed or boiled. Never scalloped.
I ate carrots…if raw.
I ate corn.
I ate peas, if raw and fresh out of the pod. Cooked? Not a chance, I fed those to the dog or stuffed them in my cheeks and then went to the bathroom to get rid of them. If I was sent to my room with the remains of my dinner, peas went out the window to the dog.
And that was about the extent of my vegetable intake.
But oh how I do love asparagus as an adult… I wonder if I’d have liked it then… you know….if I’d ever actually tried it.
