Just out for a lazy Saturday morning brunch to get my sickie out of the house for a bit 🙂
Not much to say beyond the fact that we are enjoying a brief respite from the incessant rain – only one day without precipitation in the entire month of January, and some areas of the South Coast received up to 140 mm in the past 24 hours alone!
There is something so therapeutic and ritualistic about a cup of coffee. The spilling of the beans, the grinding and the release of the fragrant oils into the air, the tamping, the steam, and the rush of the liquid gold into a waiting cup below.
It’s helpful, after a stressful week, to slow down and try to appreciate the little things, like the warm rich smell of a good coffee and the warmth of a winter sun through a window seat in a not-too-busy restaurant.
