Just a cold…but it is a “man-cold”…..so that’s really bad…..
He called in sick this morning and was told not to come back to work without a doctor’s clearance – the doctor just said “Nah, stay home and self isolate for a few days”. Rational approach. How they think Kirk might be the second case of coronavirus in BC is unclear.
I’m an advocate for people NOT coming to work sick (I’m quite happy to shame people for doing so), but that’s not something that a fairly significant percentage of the population can manage all the time; not every employer provides provision for sick days. It’s unfortunate since making staff feel that they must come in to work or risk losing their job hurts everyone. It goes both ways. I used to be in hairdressing and I can’t count the number of customers who would come in with some version of the plague and say “I’m sick, but I thought getting my hair done would make me feel better.”

If you are sick, just stay home and keep it to yourself….and your spouse…..because misery does seem to love a little bit of company 🙂
