I have a number of the Lensbaby swap system optics and they were fun to play with when I first got them. But I haven’t used them much in the past few years, mainly because they are fussy with all the little pieces. Last year I bought the Lensbaby Velvet 56 lens and I love it, but it’s a challenging lens to work with.
More recently I picked up the Lensbaby Burnside 35. I haven’t worked with it much, but it certainly gives a lovely swirl to the background under the right conditions. I find the effect pleasing. Where the Velvet is a soft and ethereal feeling, he Burnside gives a completely different look and feel
The glass of water below is taken with the Velvet 56, the flowers are shot with the Burnside 35. I like them both, but they are very different effects.
