The little monster continues to do well on his heart medications, and so he continues to terrorize us incessantly. He’s been with us so long (26 of his 30 years) that it is strange to think of the house without him when he eventually leaves us. It wasn’t long ago that we thought he was going to leave the house empty, we really did think we were going to lose all three animals last year. In the end we lost both cats heartbreakingly unexpectedly, just months apart, but Gizmo seems to have rebounded.
Two winters in a row he has done poorly, though I can’t think of a single reason that he would be seasonally affected by something that caused vascular problems. All that aside, these days, if we hadn’t seen what happened over Christmas, I would think he has another ten years left in him.
Who knows, with the medications….maybe he does.
