May 28, 2017 – It’s funny, just a week ago I was complaining about how cold it was….now I’m borderline too hot. I chose to live in a temperate climate, but it seems to be getting hotter every summer, and for longer. (I’m such a Goldilocks when it comes to the weather.) Granted, this winter and spring were a blip on that theroy. But it does seem like the natural progression between seasons has all but disappeared.
But a remnant of fall remains in my garden, slowly becoming part of a large boulder under my window. I’ve watched this maple leaf go from a fresh bright red leaf fallen from the tree above, and wetted by incessant rains that never let it make it to the soil below. And as time marches on it is becoming part of the rock itself all these many months later, bleached and cracked, but still clinging tightly to that boulder.
I played with it in colour and in monochrome, I like the black and white version better, but they each have a different feel.

I like how you’ve been watching the gradual disintegration of this leaf. Very nice textures.
Thank you Karen, it’s funny how this leaf has caught my attention. It’s quite a large rock it was plastered on to and it is a bit striking, almost looking like a fossil.
Super textures.
