December 11, 2016 – The snow hasn’t disappeared quite yet, though the rain is trying its best to wash it away here on the North Shore.
Many people in Vancouver say they like snow…”as long as it stays on the mountains”, and many simply hate the white stuff altogether. Drivers are woefully inexperienced, unprepared, and basically useless here. I once worked for a woman who told me that when snow was falling and she had to drive that she would have a “death grip on the wheel and needed to roll down her window so that she could get air, because she hyperventilates….”. When I heard that I offered to always find a way to fill in for her when the white stuff was in the forecast, I figured it was safer for everyone to keep her off the roads!
I like the change in weather from rain to something that feels more like a real winter, more like Christmas.
I’m just sad that it won’t last long, it rarely does here.

I love your snowman! Our snow here is gone and rain now. But photos like this help us hold on to the moments.
