November 6, 2016 – Do you ever stop and look at your smartphone with a bit of wonder? The technology is amazing, and it just seems like a blink in time since we were tethered to the wall by the telephone.
I mean, think about it. I remember when Dad brought home our first computer, the Tandy 1000 from Radio Shack. It didn’t even have a hard drive, it had dual 5.25″ floppy drives and a cassette for backing up/running programs.
There was no internet, no pictures, no email. Dad’s use for it was spreadsheeting, using Symphony, the predecessor to Lotus 123, long before Excel ever existed.
My only use for it was to play a game of Star Trek that was really more like Battleship, no imagery, and the game involved inputting coordinates and hopefully hitting a Klingon ship that was little more than an invisible X until it was hit.
Now we have technology in our pockets that exceeds what it took to put a man on the moon!
And we bitch when we drop a call in an elevator….

Actually, Symphony followed Lotus 1-2-3. VisiCalc was the predecessor.
Congratulations!
This is a wonderful shot!
