September 11, 2016 – This little monster has lived with us for over 25 years, he is about 30 years old now, and he rules the roost.
While I do love him, there are days that I’d like to separate his head from his torso because he can be so, so, loud.
If you ever have the notion that having a parrot would be fun, I urge you to reconsider. Living with a parrot is not for the weak of character, they are a challenge that can test your patience. It’s much like living with a two year old child capable of monumental tantrums at unexpected and inconvenient moments. He has a mind of his own, and is stubborn, loud, and destructive. And he never grows out of it.
But he does keep life interesting.

He is pretty though. Probably a good thing. What type is he again? Senegal?
Yes, a Senegal Parrot….with attitude
“Senegal Parrots are probably the most popular of the Poicephalus parrots, which includes the Meyer’s Parrot, Red-bellied Parrot, and Jardine’s parrots. They are also much quieter birds than many of the smaller, more colorful and popular parrots, like the Conures in the Aratinga genus. For this reason they make ideal pets for apartment or condominium living or just for the owner who prefers more peace.”
I guess Gizmo didn’t get the memo? Haha!
Certainly he did not!
they say pets are like their owners….and your parrot has “attitude”???? lol….really? 😉
