Day 236 – Nowhere to go but up….

by The Philosophical Fish

August 23, 2016 – I have to gripe about something.

Don’t you just hate those people who are in front of you on an escalator and just stop at the top?

And then they look at you like you’re completely rude for asking them to move when the escalator inexorably pushes you towards them, and you have nowhere else to go.

Why do they do that?

And then there are the doors…doors that apparently many people are unable to understand and manipulate on their own. Like the two young women ahead of me and behind an elderly man walking with a cane. I watched him push the automatic door button and wait for it to open…and I watched them bob around behind him trying to get by through the opening door, and when they couldn’t, they impatiently waited for him to shuffle through. And while they waited, I opened the connected door and walked through it, shaking my head at them, but not before they both made a jerk towards it, as if I was opening it for them, and then realized they couldn’t quite get past me before I walked through the door I’d opened for myself, like a grown up does.

Four doors in a row, but they had to wait for the automatic door that the elderly fellow needed. The other three were not adequate.

In some cases, technology has not done us any favours.

I just don’t understand.

Great pov. I hate escalators anyway and dread someone getting in my way. (Goes back to my childhood again and seeing a man fall and his coat get caught up.)

Yikes! That would be something that would leave a mark on your psyche!

I agree about the rudeness of stopping at the top…or, standing in the center so there is no room to pass on the left! Your photo is beautifully focused and shows these fabulous details and perspective going up.
