October 29, 2015 – I took a drive up to Squamish to visit a fish hatchery I don’t often have the opportunity to get to since it’s usually supported by another biologist.
I love this stretch, the way the forest reaches across the road with its branches, barren of leaves, blanketed and dripping with thick and heavy moss that acts as a sound deadener, softly muffling the world.
Just wonderful.

I know that road well. And if I recall correctly, there are two hatcheries near there. One at the Outdoor School and another further upstream.

True, tho’ I’ve never been to the Outdoor School one, it’s a Public Involvement Project and part of the the Community Involvement Program. While I sometimes provide assistance to that program when requested, my work is generally restricted to the major Federal facilities. In this case, Tenderfoot Creek or the "one further upstream" 😉
