September 1, 2015 – Who flipped the switch on the weather!?!
Less than a week ago it was 30C up in D’Arcy when I was at the spawning channel. This morning I got up and it was 9C (I know that’s not cold by the standards of some of my friends, but we live in Lotusland down here).
Less than a week ago we were crying for precipitation. Yesterday Lynn Creek looked like a raging river.
I know we need the rain, but wow, we went from months of dry and incredibly hot weather to an overnight change in seasons. It was a shock to hear the furnace come on overnight, it’s a sound I haven’t heard since probably March or April.
They say we may be in for an unusually warm Fall, but for the moment it’s time to relocate the wet weather gear and warmer clothes. And now that the umbrellas have been retrieved from the dusty corners, it’s also time for Vancouverites to remember a little umbrella etiquette.
