Magnification (240/365)

August 28, 2015 – Just a shot, nothing much to say today.

Today was a day off and I spent most of it finishing up a few of the last preserving projects I wanted to try out.

On today’s small batch canning list were:

  • Rosemary infused applesauce (pretty good, will be nice with a pork tenderloin)
  • Raspberry chocolate jam (OMG this is SO good!!!)
  • Pear jam with chocolate (see above!)
  • Pear cranberry chutney (Meh…glad I only made a few jars)
  • Apple cranberry mincemeat (Yum! This will be fantastic in a pie, tarts, or a crumble)
  • Pear caramel sauce (Holy crap this is so good! Will be wonderful dribbled over ice cream or a pound cake)

Left are pizza sauce, basil pasta sauce, and a basic tomato sauce. I need to run out somewhere towards the Valley and pick up about 20lbs of tomatoes so I can get those done in the next week since I’m off and the weather is slated to be cool and wet. Perfect for a few more canning projects.

But now it’s the end of the day and with no inspiration I just grabbed a couple of objects from the office, tossed them on the counter, and voila!

Photograph for the day!

That said, I kind of like how it came out.

After years of following your photos, today just now I moved into your website….fabulous Paige! And we are a bit of neighbors me being just south over the border. We share the same waters, so to speak. Your photos are beautiful slices of your days.

Your words are so kind! Thank you so much!

I’ve often seen your photos of the ocean and feel like I’ve ridden near you. Clearly the West Coast, obviously Washington, and my guess was always somewhere South of Bellingham given the view.

We often ride down past Drayton Harbour and enjoy the curves on Chuckanut Drive, with a stop in Edison for lunch before heading back home.

We live in a beautiful part of the world, don’t we? 🙂

We moved here from Pasadena- born and raised. This is our paradise for sure. Edison Bow is the best refueling stop. Have u indulged at The Rhodie? We live on Camano Island- a bridged island- exit 212 just south of MtVernon. Someday maybe u will be in the area. That would be very cool.

A bit different from Pasadena! Slower pace and a bit more moisture 🙂

I have not eaten at The Rhodie, though I’ve heard it’s very good and a friend was raving about it recently. We usually stop in at the Longhorn or Tweets for a bite. Habit I suppose.

We ride Whidby sometimes, love the bridge at Deception Pass. Such a magnificent view and I love watching the boats in the current below. But we have not ridden Camano Island, though now it will be on the "to-do" list as I love exploring that area. 🙂
