August 15, 2015 – I wanted to make a small batch recipe for Peach BBQ sauce. The recipe called for 2lbs of peaches…..but peaches were on sale and I came home with 10lbs. 🙂
There are worse predicaments to find oneself in.
So now, in addition to several small jars of Peach BBQ sauce, the pantry also hosts a few small jars of Peach Jam, Peach Mint Salsa, and Peach Relish with sweet and hot peppers.
As an aside, holy shit habanero peppers are hot! I was smart and put a pair of surgical gloves on, cut it on a separate cutting board, and used a separate knife. But like a cat, curiosity got me and I licked a corner of a cut piece of pepper. I’m not highly tolerant of really spicy things, though I’ve improved a LOT since I was younger. My tongue and lips burned for quite some time after that little test.
And of course, I also kept a couple of peaches back in the fridge to enjoy with a little bit of heavy cream. 🙂
Does anyone have a favourite peach recipe to share?

lovely potential – right? Do you can peaches to capture their goodness for the winter?
Growing up we used to. Now I’m more inclined to make chutneys and sauces than to have jars of canned fruit in syrup. But I WAS tempted since it’s been a very long time since I’ve had pure and simple home canned peaches.
