July 31, 2015 – These little can openers are about 30-40 years old. A lifetime ago, when I was a kid, lunchbox sized apple juice didn’t come in a little rectangular box. Back then it came in tiny little cans, and each pack of the tiny little cans came with a tiny little can opener. My Granny used to have these little cans of juice around and they were part of any summer beach-lunch. How else were you supposed to open your can of juice back when tetra-paks and pull tabs didn’t exist yet?
This is how!
When I cleaned out my Granny’s house I found a bunch of them (she didn’t throw much away), and I had to grab a trio of them just to make me smile once in awhile when I open the cutlery drawer.
I’d all but forgotten about those juice cans until I saw these little openers. They have no purpose anymore, other than to remind me of happy times.

They still have uses. I use them to open tomato sauce cans and remove the lids on canning jars.
Nice photo!
Ha, you just dated yourself 😉 And you're right, I shouldn't have said they have nopurpose, I use them for opening canning jars too 🙂
And thank you!
