Finally, some rain! (204/365)

July 24, 2015 – Rain, finally! We need rain so badly, this was a gift today.

But we need much, much more.

It seems like such a strange thing to complain about when one lives in Vancouver…rain…we usually complain about its presence, not its absence. (Although I actually heard people complain about its presence today too).

When I woke up this morning it was such a sweet sound to hear, water drip-drip-dripping, even though it interfered with plans on two fronts.

I was to go for a walk/hike in Lynn Canyon with a UBC-family member this morning, but we ended up having coffee for a couple of hours in the Village instead. Didn’t matter, the purpose was a visit as the last time was two and a half years ago in Prince George, under a very sad circumstance. It was just a treat to hang out and talk, and be able to listen.

The second thing interfered with was a retirement celebration for one of the hatchery managers, but given that we all work with fish, there were no complaints there either, we all thought it ironic, but everyone was grateful for the cool and wet weather.

There is more moisture in the forecast, fingers crossed there is some volume to the precipitation.
