July 22, 2015 – One of the few plants that was already here when we moved in, and which I didn’t tear out. Anything new gets a chance to show me what it can do, and if it doesn’t please, it’s gone. I’m not usually a flower person, more of a foliage lover, so when I saw flowers start, and when they looked like astilbe at the outset….it was on the chopping block.
But when it came into flower last year, I not only loved it, I had no idea what it was. So it got a stay of execution.
After some digging I found that it is called gooseneck loosestrife and is somewhat invasive.
Fine by me, I love it’s gracefully arching blooms.
