June 27, 2015 – A broom has one normal purpose to most people. Most people use it for that intended purpose, which is sweeping away dust and dirt.
To me this has one very different purpose (NOT transportation!)….it gets rid of spiders and spider webs on my upper deck.
Period!
The problem is that it usually it has one attached to it so I have to overcome my irrational fear before I can use it to get rid of that which causes my irrational fear.
Yes, I am an arachnophobe, who moved to an area with a thousand time the number of arachnids compared to where I used to live, just two minutes down the hill.
They grow them big up here! Well, big by BC standards. (Sara, I just can’t imagine living where you do….those things in your neighbourhood would sed me to Antarctica!)
Last night we were sitting outside enjoying the cool air of the evening and Kirk told me to stop staring at the monster spider up under the soffit. And of course, now that I wrote that, I looked up and the thing is still up there lurking.
I need my broom…and a ladder.

A jumping spider has taken up residence in the kitchen. I don’t mind him too much, probably because that kind aren’t rapid scuttlers.
No thank you…the broom (or Kirk) would definitely come into play!

My Osoyoos ride 😉
We have plenty of spiders including Black Widows. The broom has great uses besides sweeping sand!
😀
