June 24, 2015 – Another long, but very fun, day at work. While it’s a slog to drag myself out of be to catch the 6:20 am ferry to go to meetings, I can easily hop out to do the same when I know I will be spending the day out on the water in a boat measuring salmon and trout fry caught in a trap on Comox lake.
The lake was pretty lumpy and there was a lot of spray, even though I hadn’t taken a shower this morning I got one anyway 😉 Not much to look at out on the lake today, it was pretty grey, dismal, and non-photogenic.
But when we were trailering and hauling the boat out of the lake, I noticed this little boat sitting on the beach….waiting for someone to take it out for a row.
The weather has been dry of late, and today’s rainfall won’t make much difference given the heatwave we are heading into this weekend. But with sunshine comes recreation and the lake will probably be teeming with weekend vacationers come Friday afternoon.
The little boat will be well used I imagine.
I also loved the irony in the message on this log….

What a pretty place for a row boat to be lonely in .
