June 12, 205 – Awww, thanks Wall-E…. every girl loves being made to feel special with a gift of flowers.

As a generalization, I think men probably think flowers are a stupid gift because they die; they are probably seen as money poorly spent. Dinner and a movie probably seems a better expenditure, and they get to get something out of it too.

The problem is that too many guys give flowers for the wrong reasons.

Valentine’s Day, birthdays, anniversaries, a means to get out of the dog house, etc. Those are usually the times that men give women flowers.

Great, that’s fine. But it’s not when women appreciate them the most.

Why?

Because that’s when most flowers are given. Ho, hum…yawn.

If you want to make a romantic gesture (yeah, I know, most guys couldn’t care less about romantic gestures), give flowers because …. I don’t know…..it’s Tuesday! And if you want to really make her smile and think about you….send them to her at work. She gets to glance at them all day and think of you; she gets to stop time throughout the day and enjoy their scent…and think of you.

Best part?

All her co-workers will be jealous and that gets you even more points.

I think a lot of men think their ladies don’t really want to receive flowers. Those men are wrong in most cases.

If she says “Oh, they are lovely, but why, you didn’t have to …..” She is NOT saying, “These are lovely, but you don’t have to do it again.” Rather she is probably saying “I love when you do this and I’d love it if you did it more often.”

Don’t wait for some random special occasion, you’ll probably never get around to buying her flowers then….what a perfect cop out. Instead, buy her flowers for no reason at all….and do it often. Trust me, she will appreciate it more than you will ever know (assuming she is not allergic to them of course).

Flowers say “I’m thinking about you.” And that’s the most romantic gesture of all.

(And guess what guys, the more often you give flowers, the more she feels loved and thought about, and the more likely you are to get some nookie. Win-win!)
