May 29, 2015 – Today was supposed to be my day off, but it ended up not being as I needed to go to a hatchery out towards the Valley to get four people together to sort out some confusion with a new project coming on line this fall (hopefully) and some over the top plans that were being made that would just over-complicate procedures with a species that one really doesn’t want to overcomplicate things with.
The only reason I set it for today was that if not today….then all parties couldn’t get together until late next month at the earliest.
OK, and I also suggested today since I saw the weather report and knew it would be a nice day to ride the motorcycle out to the hatchery.
Though it did mean I had to give up my ride to Mount Baker.
The last three Fridays I was supposed to have off haven’t happened, maybe next Friday will work out.
But I did get a few hundred kilometres on the motorcycle, and I was pretty hot and stiff when I got home. This running thing has worn me out a bit and the hips didn’t stand up to the ride as well as usual. I’m sure all the kinks will work themselves out and it will all get easier eventually.
In the meantime, we decided to throw a new wrinkle in things and bought new bicycles that were ready for pickup this evening. So here’s the new toy!
I had several road bikes when I was younger, and then I had a decent mountain bike for years. This new bicycle is a hybrid and something totally new to me, though I was brand loyal to the last mountain bike I had. Locally owned right here in North Vancouver 🙂
So now I have three bikes….two motorized, and a new one that is human fuelled.
I don’t think I’ll be commuting to work right away, but maybe I’ll get to that point eventually. I guess I should get my building access card updated to access the bike storage area though…..

One people power.
I had two amazing Rocky Mountain bikes in high school and university. You will love it!
I loved my Rocky Mountain moutain bike, so I’m sure this one will be awesome too 🙂
I’m pretty sure I had my second one in Vancouver. My first one had peacock blue forks and a navy frame. Sweet ride!
I bought my first one, a Fusion – purple and green, after I graduated from my BSc in 1991. It was a pretty awesome graduation gift and I just got rid of it last fall. Kazumi rode it for awhile.
Fusion. That is what I had too! Fun
Those with great taste buy alike? 😉
Different colours for different years, but a great bike! They still make them, though they are significantly different than what we had.
Oooooo…new toys fro both of us!
Yours is way more exciting! Though I’m curious how you plan to take it hiking…. 😉
